Sithmi Wijeweera

Growing up with two brothers isn´t easy, especially, when they have surfboards and you don´t. Sithmi is 14 years old and every Sunday she joins the Surf Kids Club Meddawatta. The club is composed of 10 girls and 30 boys. Sri Lankan culture dictates that girls become women when they have their first menstruation. As a result, most girls stop surfing after that. Luckily Sithmi and her friend have been allowed to continue.
