Teresa Ayala

Everybody just calls her Tê. She is now 61 years young and when she arrived in Peniche 30 years ago, she was the first woman to surf there. Since then she has built a life around surfing. She is known for going into the waves without a wetsuit and that's quite a challenge in the Portuguese winters with 14 Celsius temperature. But back when she first started, there wasn't any good equipment. With her smile and curious eyes, she seems ageless – and considers to try longboarding one day she will be old. Teresa is a wonderful inspiration for everyone to stay healthy, happy and young. How? By surfing every day.
