Mika Tennekoon

Meet marvelous Mika! She is a surfing rebel and artist. For the talented painter with a focus in women empowerment, the ocean is feminine. Her artpieces are hanging in exhibitions in Colombo and decorate the walls of many restaurants and hotels in Sri Lanka. She just married at 35 years old and is pregnant. That´s quite a statement in her culture. She doesn´t care about the norms and follows her own path. At the age of 19 she left Colombo to go study Art in India. After her studies she moved to London and then Taiwan, before deciding to come back to her mother country. She currently lives with her boyfriend, and depending on the waves she splits her time between Hikkaduwa and Arugam Bay.
